(EMUEagles.com) – A challenging opening round at the University of Louisville's Cardinal Challenge has left the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team in 10th-place following day one of play. The Eagles shot an 11-over 299 on the first 18 holes of play at the University of Louisville Golf Club Friday, Sept. 29, sitting a stroke behind Southeastern Louisiana and Winthrop in a tie for eighth.
Freshman Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary), who sits tied for 17th in the 79-player field, leads EMU after the first round where he shot a one-over 73.
