CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University sophomore specialist Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) earned Mid-American Conference Gymnastics Specialist of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday, Feb. 26. It marked the first time in her career she has claimed the honor.
Bezold was sensational on bars at the Geogre Washington Quad, Feb. 22, earning a career-best 9.900. Not only was her score a personal-best, but it also tied for the third-best in program history. Bezold's score was the highest by an Eagle on the apparatus since Kendall Valentin tied the program record with a 9.
