YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- On a gloomy, rainy Friday afternoon the Eastern Michigan University baseball program fell 12-8 to Ohio University inside Oestrike Stadium.
Junior Frankie Volkers (Maple Grove, Minn.-Maple Grove (North Iowa)) (1-2) came out of the bullpen for Eastern Michigan (13-17, 9-8 MAC) and took the loss. Senior Thomas House (Ross, Ohio-Ross) was a bright spot for the Eagles, starting the ballgame and throwing 7.0 innings, giving up four runs, three earned, on seven hits, with no walks and three strikeouts.
Junior Matt Kirk (Milford, Ohio-Milford (Toledo)) led the way offensively for the Eagles, going 2-for-4 in the ballgame with a double, a home run, and two RBI.
