YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University track and field junior harrier Baldvin Magnusson (Akureyri, Iceland-Hull University) was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today, Jan. 27. This marks the second weekly honor in Magnusson's collegiate career, and the second weekly award for the men's track and field program this season.
Magnusson leads the MAC in the 3000m run after blowing away the competition at the Mike Lints Alumni Open hosted by Grandy Valley State University Saturday, Jan. 27. The Akureyri, Iceland native finished the race in 8:05.
