The East Carolina University women’s basketball team defeated Tulane University 63-61 Saturday evening in Minges Coliseum, breaking its five game losing streak in a close battle. Players wore pink and fans were encouraged to do the same as ECU held its annual Play 4 Kay game.
During non-conference play, the Pirates fell to the Green Wave in another close match up by a score of 57-68. The Pirates (11-10, AAC 2-6) came out strong when sophomore guard Ariyana Williams scored the first nine points for ECU with three back to back three-pointers.
