The East Carolina University women’s lacrosse team kicked off the 2019 season with a win on Friday when they defeated Winthrop University in a close matchup, 13-12.
The Eagles won the draw to start off the game as the Pirates had to defend their side of the field until they gained control of the ball. The Pirates took it down the field and were able to score the first point of the game, four minutes in by sophomore midfielder Megan Pallozzi.
Two minutes later, the Pirates entered a hot streak where they dominated their opponents side of the field.
