ECU toughens out two wins in Midweek clashes

East Carolina University’s baseball team secured victories in both home games in hard fought matchups against Wofford College, 13-8, last night and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, 6-4, Tuesday night.

“I knew this would be tough because of the guys we would bring out of the bullpen were not available today (Wednesday),” head coach Cliff Godwin said. “I thought our guys got out there and competed and didn’t panic in both games. They have been those types of situations before so I thought they did a good job of focusing on winning pitches.”

Wofford reached home plate first in the first inning coming off of an RBI single from senior catcher Cody Miller, bringing home freshman center fielder Colin Davis.
