The East Carolina University softball team took down Ohio University yesterday in its first game of the James Madison Invitational by pulling out a complete team victory, winning 9-2.
The game was a win all around the board for the Pirates (11-16). Senior infielder Karlie Smith hit a home run and batted in two runs (RBI). Senior infielder Meredith Burroughs scored a run for the team and had three RBI after four at bats. Freshman infielder Ashleigh Inae gave ECU two runs and one RBI.
Batting seems to get better and better every game for ECU, making big hits and big plays.
