On Saturday, East Carolina University hosted the 25th annual “Meet the Pirates” day presented by Piggly Wiggly Fresh Buy at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Fans lined the sidewalk in anticipation, some taking pictures of the recently completed TowneBank Tower that loomed overhead.
As fans filtered closer to the front of the line to enter the festivities, they were allowed to do much more than take pictures of the new tower, as ECU officials opened it to the general public. Inside, fans roamed the five-story, $60 million building, checking out the many clubs and private boxes tucked neatly inside. Of the five stories, four are devoted to fans, with levels for clubs, suites and loge boxes, many of which have already been sold out.
