With the way the season has gone, it is doubtful anyone looked at the remainder of the East Carolina basketball team’s schedule following Sunday’s loss at Connecticut and counted any certain Pirate victories.
There were a few that seemed like probable wins though, and Wednesday’s home matchup against Tulane was one of them before tip-off and almost certainly when ECU went ahead by 13 points in the second half.
The last-place Green Wave flipped that logic and turned the tide by rallying for a 100-92 three-overtime victory in Minges Coliseum that left the Pirates and the few fans who were left at game’s end stunned.
