ECU defeats PCC in exhibition

A big day from redshirt junior catcher Jake Washer powered the East Carolina University baseball team to a 9-0 win over Pitt Community College on Sunday at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

On offense, ECU started the scoring with a three run third inning. The Pirates scoring in the third came from a Bryant Packard RBI double, an RBI single from Washer and Brady Lloyd scoring on passed ball. Spencer Brickhouse and Washer added RBI singles in the fourth inning to make it 5-0.

In the sixth inning, Ryder Giles and Brickhouse each tallied RBI singles before Washer wrapped up his big day with a two-run home run to put ECU’s lead to nine.
