ECU Baseball clinches regular season title

History was made in Eck Stadium last night, because for the first time in program history, East Carolina University (38-11, 17-2 AAC) won the regular season title in the American Athletic Conference. The Pirates achieved this by defeating Wichita State University (22-27, 6-13 AAC) 6-1.

The Pirates were thrilled to hit such a milestone. They were so excited, they spontaneously began singing “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey on the bus headed back from the game. ECU’s play by play announcer Corey Gloor posted a video of the team singing the song on his personal Twitter account.

After clinching their first AAC regular season title since 2009, ECU baseball will now be the number one seed in the American Conference tournament.
