East Carolina University sophomore tennis player Diogo Marques won his first tournament draw this past weekend against Liberty University at the Liberty Invitational in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Marques competed as a 4th seed in the red draw during the tournament. In each of his first three rounds, Marques lost his first set then battled back to win the second and third sets to advance to the next round. Marques played his final round against Liberty sophomore Josh Wilson, where he won the first set, lost the second, then pulled ahead in the tie breaking finish, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6.
