East Carolina University football team’s defensive coordinator, David Blackwell addressed the press somberly after the Thursday announcement that head coach Scottie Montgomery will not be returning for his fourth season.
A very emotional meeting was held this afternoon with Montgomery and the players as he informed them that he was relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately.
“There’s a lot of things that are, you know that are going through our emotions and things like that, our players are feeling right now and really all of our focus and all of our mindset as a coaching staff right now is on our players, and moving forward to this weekend at NC State, trying to represent this university in the most positive way we can,” Blackwell said.
