Virginia’s miracle against Purdue was amazing indeed but it came down to two guys on the last play: Virginia was down three with Ty Jerome on the line and he missed the second. Mamadi Diakite tipped the ball way out into the backcourt where speedster Kihei Clark ran it down. He cut back right, threw a long pass to Diakite who hit it the tying basket with time running out.
The Cavaliers won in overtime and went on to win the national championship - and they can thank Clark for that as much as anyone.
