We should know better by now but it never occurred to us to look for the legendary 1974 NC State-Maryland ACC Tournament championship game on YouTube.
Well they have it and it’s actually in reasonable condition which is a near miracle.
This is the game State won 103-100 in triple overtime with Tommy Burleson racking up 38.
It’s a bit different - there’s no three point shot, no shot clock and no dunks. And best of all, no endless fouling at the end.
Some things haven’t changed though: in a long ACC tradition, Maryland blew it, even air balling the last, desperate shot.
