This commercial ran a few years after Steve Wojciechowski graduated from Duke and in the pantheon of Duke commercials it’s probably underrated: it’s Wojo in a lab getting his blood drawn by researchers and naturally, Wojo bleeds Duke blue.
They inject his blood into a lab rat and then take another rat out and inject a, uh, paler blue blood into that one from a vial labeled UNC.
Then they put the two rats into a glass box and grimace and back away and the screen fades to the overall message.
It’s one of Nike’s better ads, all things considered, and you have to wonder, in the current environment, what Wojo might have made if he could have filmed it as a player.
