You Tube Gold: Duke-Temple 1988

Here’s one of the more memorable games in the Duke canon: the 1988 Eastern Regional Final.

Mark Macon was seen as a rising star, an NBA legend in the making.

Not after Billy King got through with him: Macon shot 6-29 and memorably cried in the locker room when it was over.

It’s probably not fair to say that King made him cry but it’s totally fair to say that Macon was never the same after #55 got through with him.

Still probably Duke’s best defender ever, at 6-6, King could guard any player on the court yet somehow struggled with layups.
