DURHAM – Senior pitcher Jala Wright was tabbed the ACC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, following two strong performances in Duke's three-game series sweep over Syracuse last weekend.
Wright went 2-0 in the circle, tossing 10.0 scoreless innings and collecting 10 strikeouts. The Charlotte, N.C., native led Duke's pitching staff to three straight shutouts as the Blue Devils outscored the Orange 16-0.
During game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Wright had a no-hitter going until the sixth inning, before the Orange broke through with a base hit. She allowed just three Syracuse batters to reach base on a single and a pair of walks in her 6.
