DURHAM, N.C. – Opening weekend for the 2019 Duke squad will see the 24th-ranked Blue Devils welcome Villanova to Koskinen Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. Duke and the Wildcats meet for just the third time in program history and the first time in a season opener.
Head coach Kerstin Kimel’s squad returns 23 letterwinners from the 2018 campaign, including eight starters, and this year welcomed the nation’s No. 4 recruiting class. The Blue Devils begin the season tied for 19th in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and ranked 24th in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Coaches Poll.
