PHILADELPHIA – Four different Blue Devils notched hat tricks to lead No. 16 Duke past Saint Joseph’s, 16-10, Wednesday in non-conference action at the Hawks’ Sweeney Field. Leading 7-6 at halftime, the Blue Devils outscored Saint Joseph’s 9-4 over the final 30 minutes to move to 5-3 on the season.
Senior Hayley Shaffer, juniors Maddie Crutchfield and Kyra Harney and freshman Catherine Cordrey all finished with three goals, with Crutchfield adding two assists for a team-high five points. Sophomore Ellie Majure contributed two tallies to go along with a career-high six draw controls to help Duke take the category by a 17-10 margin.
