NEW YORK, N.Y. – For the fifth time over the last eight seasons, Duke women's basketball featured a WNBA first round selection as Lexie Brown was taken with the ninth overall selection by the Connecticut Sun on April 12, 2018 at the Nike New York Headquarters. Duke teammate Rebecca Greenwell was also selected with the seventh pick in the third round by the Washington Mystics.
Overall, Brown became Duke's 11th WNBA first round selection in school history and it marked the eighth time the Blue Devils have featured two or more draft picks in the same season.
