DURHAM, N.C. - Junior Matt Wisner on the Duke track & field team was named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after helping the Blue Devils to a successful weekend at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
The Carlisle, Pa., native posted an ACC qualifying first-place time of 1:50.50 in the 800m Saturday, after placing second Friday in the 1000m. With his performance in the 800m, Wisner holds the fastest time in the ACC this season and is ranked 12th nationally. As a team, the Blue Devils captured eight first-place wins and 39 top-10 finishes over two days.
