DURHAM, N.C. – The United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), has announced its 2019 men’s college basketball awards, with Duke freshmen Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett earning first-team All-America honors, and each being named a finalist for the Oscar Robertson Player of the Year Trophy Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year Award.
Williamson and Barrett are the first freshman duo in USBWA history to earn first-team recognition in the same season. They are also the first teammate duo to be named to the first team in the same season since Duke’s J.
