Wendell Carter Jr. to miss summer after needing surgery on core muscle

The No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Wendell Carter Jr., looked to be on track for a sensational rookie season but a thumb injury kept the rookie on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

After Carter Jr. was getting ready to participate in the Chicago Bulls Summer League, the big man suffered a setback with a core muscle injury that will require surgery and obviously he will miss the remainder of the summer, according to K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune.
