Well this is pretty great news: Mike Schrage, who left Duke with Johnny Dawkins to be a Stanford assistant, will be moving back to the Piedmont to take on the Elon job.
He’s a good guy and a promising young coach. We hope he does a bang-up job with the Phoenix and expect he’ll be a solid success.
He certainly has the background. Aside from working for Coach K and Dawkins, he’s also reported to former Indiana coach Bob Knight and Ohio State’s Chris Holtmann. You certainly can’t be exposed to much better basketball minds than those four.
