DURHAM, N.C. – With the Duke football team now settled into their hotel rooms in Shreveport, La., for the Walk On’s Independence Bowl, redshirt freshman wide receiver Damond Philyaw-Johnson spoke with GoDuke.com about the excitement surrounding the first bowl game he will participate in.
After redshirting during his inaugural year in Durham, Philyaw-Johnson saw game action for the first time during the regular season. Appearing in 10 games for the Blue Devils in 2018, Philyaw-Johnson overcame an early injury to work himself into the receiving corps later in the campaign.
