DURHAM, N.C.—Duke junior defenseman Cade Van Raaphorst collected his first weekly honor of the 2018 campaign, earning a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week as announced by the organization Tuesday. It is the fourth time a Blue Devil has been represented in 2018.
A close defenseman, Van Raaphorst helped anchor a stifling defensive effort against Richmond last weekend. The Phoenix, Ariz., native registered three caused turnovers and picked up four ground balls as Duke held the Spiders to just four goals in a 14-4 victory.
The Blue Devils kept Richmond off the board in the second and fourth quarters, forced 25 turnovers and held the Spiders to only 25 shots in 60 minutes of action.
