Duke second baseman Andy Perez recently signed a contract to join the Boston Red Sox after going undrafted in the 2015 MLB Draft. Perez is the 5th Blue Devil to join Major League Baseball this season.
Andy Perez had an excellent career for the Blue Devils earning two All-ACC selections and, according to head coach Chris Pollard, he “quietly put together one of the best careers in the history of Duke baseball” defensively and on offense. He was the only player to start and play in every game for Duke Baseball this past season during his senior year only committing 1 error all season.
