Ulfarsson Signs Generation Adidas Contract, Enters MLS SuperDraft

DURHAM – Duke men's soccer sophomore Thorleifur Ulfarsson has signed a Generation adidas contract and will forgo the remainder of his college eligibility to enter the 2022 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, the league announced Thursday.

A native of Kopavogur, Iceland, Ulfarsson concludes his Duke career with 19 goals and two assists, for 40 points in 24 games. The striker recorded two hat tricks during his career against Virginia and Howard, and leaves after finishing with 15 goals in 2021, which is good for eighth on Duke's single-season chart.

This past season, Ulfarsson was named a First Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist and a First Team All-ACC honoree, while winning ACC Offensive Player of the Year accolades.
