DURHAM – Sophomore Thorleifur Ulfarsson has been tabbed as a semifinalist for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, as the United Soccer Coaches and Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) announced on Tuesday.
Given to the top player in men's and women's NCAA Division I soccer, the MAC Hermann Trophy has been awarded annually since 1967. Ulfarsson is one of 15 semifinalists, with three finalists set to be named on Wednesday, Dec. 15.
The sophomore is the program's first semifinalist since Daniele Proch in 2018. Ulfarsson could become the program's first MAC Hermann Trophy winner since Andrew Wenger in 2011.
