DURHAM – Ashley Twichell, a 2011 graduate of the Duke swimming and diving team, is set to make her Olympic debut as she represents Team USA in the 10K open water event at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The women's 10K open water will compete on Tuesday, August 3 at 5:30 p.m., EST. In addition to Twichell, Haley Anderson will also represent Team USA.
HOW SHE GOT HERE
In her fourth try to make the U.S. Olympic team, Twichell secured a spot on the team with a sixth-place finish in the open water 10K event at the 18th FINA World Championships in Yeosu, South Korea in 2019.
