Twichell Eyes Olympic Qualification This Weekend

DURHAM, N.C. – Former Blue Devil standout Ashley Twichell takes the world stage again this weekend, as she prepares to represent the United States at the 18th FINA Open Water World Championships in Yeosu, South Korea.

The 2011 Duke graduate captured a pair of medals at the FINA World Championships in 2017, winning gold in the women’s 5K open water event and adding a silver medal as a member of the United States’ 5K team relay. With those performances, Twichell became the first American athlete to claim four career FINA World Championship medals in open water swimming.
