Top four Duke basketball options after giant recruiting loss to UNC

Up until Sunday evening, experts generally felt Woodward Academy (Ga.) center Walker Kessler would pounce on the opportunity to anchor a 2020-21 Duke basketball frontcourt potentially lacking a single returning presence.

But then 247Sports’ Evan Daniels entered a Crystal Ball pick in favor of UNC around 9 p.m., letting the recruiting universe know an announcement was likely looming. Roughly an hour later, news officially broke of the 7-foot, 245-pound five-star’s surprising and sudden commitment, coming on the same day his visit to Chapel Hill concluded.

So now that Kessler is off the table, the Duke staff must quickly decide how to move on.
