2000 – Men's Basketball – Grant Hill, former Duke Basketball All-America and five-time All-NBA pick, and his wife Tamia, a four-time Grammy-nominated recording artist with Elektra Records, announced a $1 million gift to Duke University to establish an endowed fund for athletic scholarship support. The Hills' gift, then the largest to the university from a former basketball player, created the Grant & Tamia Hill Scholarship Endowment Fund to provide financial aid for a Duke Basketball player each year.

2012 – Men's Cross Country – The Duke men's cross country team turned in a dominant performance to claim its fourth consecutive team title at the Great American Cross Country Festival at the WakeMed Course in Cary, N.
