- 2003 – Women's Golf – With rounds of 276 and 276 for a two-day ledger of 552, the Blue Devils won the ACC/SEC Challenge. The final round was rained out. Liz Janangelo shot a school-record 36-hole total of 134 on her way to winning the individual title.
- 2005 – Men's Basketball – USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team program Managing Director Jerry Colangelo officially announced that Basketball Hall of Fame coach and Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski as the head coach of the USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team program.
