When members of the ACC basketball community gathered in Charlotte last month, an outgrowth of their sharing information, fellowship, and food was predictions of how teams will finish during the 2026-27 regular season and who will win major individual awards.
As usual in recent years, Duke was projected to finish atop the standings and a Blue Devil freshman, Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje, was tabbed the league’s Rookie Of the Year. Twelve of the last 19 ACC top rookies at year’s end played for the Blue Devils.
Similarly, six of the last nine ACC Players Of The Year ultimately came from Duke.
