Syracuse Tragedy: In A Terrible Moment, Jim Boeheim’s Instincts Were To Help And Protect Others

Related Topics: Jim Boeheim, Instinct

When we heard the horrible news about Jim Boeheim’s traffic accident that cost another man his life, our instinct was that it was, simply, an accident.

The car that hit the guardrail did so just before Boeheim happened by. It blocked the left two lanes and another car had nearly hit it. The occupants decided to run to safety on the other side of the road, which was unlit.

Boeheim swerved to miss the car and hit Jorge Jiminez, a man who had left Cuba a long time ago and built a life for himself here.

The most striking part of what we now know is this: after the accident, Boeheim stopped.
