DURHAM – Duke graduate student defenseman Wilson Stephenson has been named the USA Lacrosse Magazine National Player of the Week for his effort in the Blue Devils' win at No. 8 Penn last weekend. This is the first weekly award in Stephenson's career.
Stephenson turned in arguably the best performance of his career this past Saturday in helping Duke to a 14-12 victory over No. 8 Penn. Drawing the matchup with one of the nation's top midfielders in Sam Handley, the Greenwich, Conn., native recorded a career-high four turnovers, collected a career-best six ground balls and added his first career goal in the triumph.
