DURHAM, N.C. – Following a 3-0 weekend in the circle, senior Peyton St. George was tabbed the ACC Pitcher of the Week to collect her third pitching honor of the 2021 season, while Duke maintained its strong presence in all four national polls with its third straight undefeated week of play.
The Mechanicsville, Va., native led the Blue Devils' pitching staff through 16 innings in the circle, including two complete games, to tally three wins, 21 strikeouts and a 1.31 earned run average. With her three victories, St. George improved to 9-0 on the season and is one shy of tying her season-high 10 wins in 2020 while 21 strikeouts away from reaching her program record 96 punchouts in 2018.
