Shelden Williams Among 2017 ACC Legends Class

Former Duke All-American and two-time National Defensive Player of the Year Shelden Williams will be part of the 2017 class of ACC Basketball Legends presented by New York Life, the league office announced Wednesday.

Affectionately known as “The Landlord,” Williams starred at Duke from 2003-06. He graduated as the program’s career leader in rebounds (1,262) and blocked shots (422), and ended his collegiate career as the first player in NCAA history to register 1,750 points, 1,250 rebounds, 400 blocks and 150 steals in a career.

The Forest Park, Okla., native set a Duke single-season record with 122 blocks as a junior in 2004-05 en route to capturing the first of his two National Defensive Player of the Year awards.
