Second-Half Surge Pushes Duke Past Towson, 14-7

WASHINGTON D.C. – Duke sophomore Brennan O'Neill scored six goals and handed out three assists to lead 12th-ranked Duke to a 14-7 victory over Towson in the Capitol Classic Lacrosse Tournament at Audi Field Saturday evening.

Duke (8-3) outscored Towson (3-5), 8-1, in the third quarter and 12-3 overall in the second half to overcome a 4-2 halftime deficit.

Sophomore Jake Naso was outstanding at the faceoff dot, winning 17-of-22 restarts and picking up 13 ground balls. Graduate student Mike Adler anchored a solid defensive effort with 14 saves as Duke held the Tigers to just three goals and 12 shots in the second half.
