CARY, N.C. – The Duke men’s tennis team turned in an excellent performance Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park with sophomore Catalin Mateas and junior Nicolas Alvarez highlighting the day with singles victories to advance to the main draw Round of 16. The Blue Devils played one round of singles Saturday and two rounds of doubles.
In singles, Duke sent a four players into the main draw Round of 32, with Mateas and Alvarez continuing action into Sunday. Mateas recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Lorenz Schwab of Campbell.
