PINEHURST, N.C. -- Sophomore Luke Sample ended in a tie for second place on the leaderboard and the Duke men's golf team finished in seventh place in the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2, with a 54-hole team score of 871 (+31).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke shot a 14-over 294 as a team in the final round on Tuesday afternoon.
- After starting the day in a tie for fourth place, Luke Sample made 12 pars and used two timely birdies throughout his round, including on his final hole of the day, to sign for a 2-over, 72.
