DURHAM, N.C. – Duke catcher Michael Rothenberg was named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced Tuesday.
A senior out of Boca Raton, Fla., Rothenberg earned recognition on the watch list for the second consecutive season. This season, Rothenberg is batting .244 with nine RBIs, six doubles, a home run and 11 walks. His six doubles lead the Atlantic Coast Conference. He is currently on a 36-game on-base streak.
In addition to offensive production, Rothenberg has started 11 of Duke's 12 games behind the plate and has caught four stealing so far this season.
