Roth Honored with Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award from NFF Dooley Chapter

Raleigh, N.C. – A 1980 Duke graduate, John Roth has been named the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award, announced on Thursday by The National Football Foundation's Bill Dooley Chapter.

Roth will be honored at the chapter's annual Pigskin Preview on Friday, July 23 at the Embassy Suites in Cary.

A veteran of the local college athletics landscape, Roth has promoted student-athletes and coaches in exemplary fashion through print, radio and television platforms for over 40 years.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduate of both Durham's Jordan High School and Duke University, Roth spent eight years in the sports information department at his alma mater prior to a 19-year stint as a vice president of Moore Productions, which served as the multi-media rights holder for Duke Athletics.
