DURHAM, N.C. – Rookie Danny Campbell III was tabbed ACC Male Fencer of the Week following his performance at the Philadelphia Invitational over the weekend, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
The ninth-ranked men defeated NJIT (18-9), Lafayette (26-1), NYU (14-13) and Sacred Heart (22-5) and fell to No. 10 Penn (14-13).
The men's epee squad went 3-2 on the day and was led by Campbell with 11 victories and only three losses. The Oakton, Va., native tallied an undefeated 3-0 showing in the thrilling 14-13 win over NYU.
