Recruiting: Kenny Blakeney Lands Another Significant Talent

When former Blue Devil Kenny Blakeney took the Howard job we were excited for him and the school. He had a tough first year though finishing just 4-29.

There was a lot of off-season excitement though, highly unusual during the pandemic: Howard got a commitment from Makur Maker.

A 5-Star center who entertained offers from schools like Kentucky, UCLA, and Memphis, he wanted to go to an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities for anyone who doesn't know the acronym).

Blakeney also got Indiana transfer Nojel Eastern which was a big deal.

Unfortunately, Howard has only been able to play five games so far due to the pandemic and is just 1-4 and Maker has a groin injury and has been shut down indefinitely.
