In order to randomize the Sweet Sixteen, we thought we’d use the Chinese horoscope characters: Ox, Rat, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig.
We will use coach’s birth years in this round but anyone who is an Ox gets advanced automatically because this is, after all, the Year of the Ox, and the Ox is a freakin’ cool animal.
Here’s the order of descent we chose to determine who moves on.
Dragon, Tiger, Horse, Dog, Monkey, Rooster, Rabbit, Sheep, Pig
Rats and snakes lose.
In case of a tie, we’ll use the first letter of the school’s president to break it.
