DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's basketball program has unveiled plans for the Mako Medical Duke Classic Honoring Dr. Onye E. Akwari, a co-hosted multi-team event (MTE) with Howard University set for December.
The games involving the Blue Devils will take place December 4 vs. Bellarmine and December 6 vs. Elon at Cameron Indoor Stadium, while Howard hosts games on December 6 vs. Bellarmine and December 8 vs. Elon. Times and TV have not yet been announced.
"Dr. Akwari not only did amazing things medically for Duke University, but he really helped our program, starting in the 1980s when I arrived," said Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
